Parlotones Winners announced
Thu 17 Dec 2009, 10:57 3 Comment(s) Report AbuseRight, I know there’s been a lot of highly anxious entrants in the win a private dinner with The Parlotones competition and we must apologise for the delay in getting the winners announced.
The good news is that we can officially announce that our first winner is Harmony for her two blog posts entitled Harmony’s Dinner with the Parlotones and A Giant Mistake … or not.
The judges were unanimous in their decision as Harmony’s creativity really carried through into the spirit of the competition. Harmony has just won a private dinner with the Parlotones for herself and a partner at a location in Jozi and we can’t wait to arrange all the finer details with her soon.
Our second winner is… drum-roll please… Raymond Trueman with his blog post titled Parlotones Giant Mistake Competition Entry. Apart from buying a whole case of Giant Mistake wine it is clear that Raymond is almost as big a Parlotones fan as myself so it made perfect sense to award the second prize to him.
As you may have noticed both winners are from Gauteng and while the judges were really hoping to get winners from both Jozi and Cape Town we ended up in a scenario where there were more entries from Gauteng and almost all of them were deserving winners.
Well done to both our winners. We’ll be in contact with you shortly to work out the finer details!

Win a private dinner with The Parlotones
Mon 12 Oct 2009, 10:47 4 Comment(s) Report Abuse
Recently Afrigator teamed up with The Parlotones and Hands on Wine to create a unique social stream for the launch of their new wine – Giant Mistake. While we at Afrigator had fun working with the guys the real reason we did it was so that we could secure some cool prizes for you.
The Parlotones are currently on a world tour to promote their new album, Stardust Galaxies, but when they return the band would like to have dinner with you. Yes you!
Two lucky bloggers (one from Cape Town and one from Johannesburg), along with their partners, will each win a private dinner with the band where you’ll get to drink lots of Giant Mistake and chat about anything your heart desires.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to dine with one of South Africa’s best selling rock bands and entering couldn’t be simpler. We warn you though, it’s time to get creative!
To enter this competition all you need to do is create a post about the Giant Mistake wine on your blog. We want you to be as creative as possible so feel free to write a haiku, post a captivating photo or create a funny video. There are no boundaries to this competition and the most creative posts will win.
You have from now until the end of October 2009 to get creative and you can enter as many times are you like. So, make sure you read the rules of the competition below and get cracking!!!

Blog ranking changes
Mon 28 Sep 2009, 17:25 6 Comment(s) Report AbuseA lot of bloggers noticed that there has been quite dramatic changes in the ranking of blogs. This was due to the fact that we had to make a change to our system. We removed the links from blog posts and links from blogs from the ranking system but this was only a temporary change until we could optimise the link checking.
As of this morning we have completed our changes to the link checking and the rankings are now back to normal. For some of you this will mean that you've now gained some places while for others it may mean that you've dropped. Either way we still believe that our Afrigator ranking algorithm is a good representation of a blog’s authority.
